Repair vs. Replace @ the Daily Grind

Repair or Replace?
Taking a look at many of the systems on our two and four wheel machines (as well as our homes), one can’t help but notice that somewhere along the way, Americans made the conscious decision to become a “replace” culture.

We don’t fix things, we throw them out and replace them. Much of what we purchase is not designed to be repaired, forget about planned obsolescence.

Now there is nothing romantic about rebuilding starters, transmissions and or turning down brake rotors or fixing appliances, but do you feel there is some wisdom in repairing vs. replacing – or is that a hopelessly romantic notion in this modern world?

Furthermore, which is better for our global  economy in your opinion,  repairing or replacing?
