Dirty Bikes

I Just finished freshly rebuilding my CR250. I had spun the spines off the countershaft sprocket, this means total engine overhaul time. The aftermarket company who’s sprocket I was running obviously didn’t take into consideration the strength of the countershaft material when engineering this little fucker. Was a bit sour but I’m over it now. I’ve got a fresh bike. All new bearings and seals throughout, new top end, rebuilt carburetor, Rebuilt front forks, Brake pads, tires… It goes on. Anyways, I got to go ride it which is the whole deal. What a great bike! I’ve been on a CRF450 lately, which I’ve grown to like in many ways. Great power, wheelies all day, tons of torq but it’s just not a 2-stoke. I’ve been missing the scream of the powerband, the agile feel and the constant wheel spin. I realized that the lack of traction makes me ride completely different. You can’t get lazy on a 2-stroke or else you end up on your ass. But the adrenaline and excitement is worth the extra work.
It was another successful day in the dirt until I lost a bolt and called it.
