Why This, Why Now?
The global VTwin and motocycle culture, like many passion fueled, enthusiast-driven pursuits is disorganized, with many niches that are tough to identify, explore and navigate for all interested and involved. With this universe being so fractionated it’s a puzzle to figure out what’s out there, what’s good, worthwhile and what’s current. There is no unifying force on a global basis bringing niches together in a well designed, edited & organized, professionally presented manner that demonstrates an understanding and sensitivity to the subject matter, digital media and how bikeriders consume their passion.
Facebook has proven itself (for all of its faults) a powerful, global engine for connecting VTwin enthusiasts as well as the creative community that wants to engage and serve them (photographers, videographers & writers)– we’ve made it our own – now its time to bundle it with something that moves it one step closer to what we really want – a content rich environment filled with unique writing, photography and points of view from informed taste-makers – that reflect our diverse interests in context.
We just don’t ride bikes, we eat food, we own vehicles, we have jobs, we pay bills, we have families, we listen to music, we make stuff, we shop for food,we are complex multi-faceted creatures with many interests – as is 45dgree.
45dgree’s large, growing talented freelance editorial pool (photo/video/writing) that has been terribly underserved, underutilized and under recognized will provide the majority of content on this site.
45dgree will serve the global VTwin universe by offering a:
Daily dialogue with interesting people from all over the world participating (the Daily Grind)
Individual columns created /maintained /moderated by talented writers/ photographers/content creators
Rich Media environment: video, music, images of the day – for desktop or mobile devices
Manufacturer & Product content: new product releases, features, how-to’s videos, product reviews
Comments and dialogues – synched with your Facebook account – no “unattributed” comments, no haters, no flamers
Marketplace for businesses and craftspeople to share editorial content, promote dialogue and sell goods
Content distributed through the web (and in short order an app for Smartphones)
Content sponsorships and product placement, rather than intrusive & disruptive advertising
45dgree content will be syndicated as a feed to other publishers/titles
Translation capabilities will be provided through plug-ins and third party apps
45dgree wants to support the worldwide VTwin aftermarket, and the industry as a whole (publishers, event producers, venues…) and the craftspeople (bike builders, painters, fabricators, repair shops…) and tastemakers (tattoo artists, clothing brands, music, style) that make it a rich place - we want to help you succeed, we want to give you exposure to a broad audience that is interested in buying goods & service, we want to provide an opportunity for you to engage with your constituents.
