Nice. I finally found a source of pimento wood, so I can slow cook/smoke some jerk properly with the right wood. Haven't tried it yet, but looking forward to it!

@satyakraus @Fireman Excellent! Tried to track you down last year but couldn't Google the street address correctly. Got some lonely road off of Meyer's Grade and got turned around. Anyway - email on the way... you're invited.

Done the 101 twice now. Planning on a third time next year. 8 Ball Brian is right - it's a stretch not to be missed. Heading up Pacific Coast Highway 1 from L.A to Point Arena Lighthouse next week. Russian River Valley, Booneville, Kings Ridge, Tin Barn, Bohemian Highway and Stewarts Point Scaggs Springs Road. More info and pictures when I get back.

I remember being a fan of Hogslayer back in the 70s. But then I was a Norton fan anyway, so it only made it better that it was a twin engined Norton that was kicking butt and taking names across America and Europe.

When I bought my FXST new in '01, the first thing I pulled off was the stock exhaust. 11 years later, I keep thinking I'm done changing things, but I never am. My second day working in a bike shop, and I'm already ordering more stuff. I can't make it as fast as I'm spending it.

@stevebI actually popped a wheelie on that bike going up a steep hill with my then girlfriend on the back. I slipped thru 2nd gear into 1st when I downsihifted. Suddenly the front tire and the sky was all I could see between the bars. She was zoned out listening to something on her walkman until the top of the sissybar hit the pavement behind her head. I didnt drop it, and still dont know how. The only time that bike ever got dropped was coming up hill to a stop sign (happened twice) and the one time the factory weld on the kickstand gave out (notice in the pics she is on a center stand).

Like I said, this bike was weird with how things happened to her.

@LPRides L.P.,
She handled the curves just fine. I rode her up and down the twisties of US-101 along Hood Canal everyday at speeds well over the posted limit until I moved to Port Orchard. Then life suddenly became quite intense and she had to follow a path separate from mine.

@8 Ball Brian I hear ya, Brian. America is the land of freedom, liberty and choice. Not always the case across the board but definitely in the majority. I support and defend your right to choose - even if I don't agree with it. You've experienced events in your life that give you perspective in this topic that are specific and meaningful. My experiences are similar in some respects but vastly different in others. When we meet on the road - my opinions are mine and your opinions are yours as we respectfully continue the dialog over cold drinks and preferably something to eat.... as it should be.

@Fireman Bill @Fireman Bill I am sad to say the entire west coast is no-choice. But when I ride across the Snake River into Idaho, I almost always pull immediately over and stow the helmet. But as I said elsewhere, I would support a mandatory insurance law over a mandatory helmet law any day of the week.
