The King – a 3pc buckle set & a custom leather bel

the king belt buckle

OK, here is the deal – I make a belt made around the buckle set featured. The set includes – both a custom belt and this buckle. The custom, one-off belt will be made to your waist measurements (based on my diagram) and around the the buckle set pictured right here.
BUY THE KING HERE
The belt will have a stamped design similar (or not if you want something specific) to what you see above in the sample pictures. Take a look at my work (on this site or here on ETSY) to get a sense of what I can do, and we will take it from there!
I will cut the belt from the very best domestically made 8-10 oz vegetable tanned leather. The belt will be lined with mission grain pigskin and stitched with domestically sourced nylon thread, giving it a resilience to stretching, sweating and wear.

About the buckle pictured above: this buckle is a nickel silver unit with a nice brass inlay – very cool, something new and different – looks great with Black or Brown’s.

This buckle will accommodate a 1.5″ wide belt

I also make knife and tool sheaths from heavy weight vegetable tanned cowhide.
I’ve made guitar straps, leashes and wristbands – all with a different look and design as your commonly used to seeing.
If you’re looking for something you don’t see, ask. I am always up for a challenge, within reason.

I have happy customers, please take a look:

Scarred Smarter

Scarred Smarter

The Scarred Smarter Fin is a Fin wallet with a beautiful complex coloration, a black edge and natural thread.. The Fin measures 6.5 long and 4″ at its widest point. The wallet fits a jean back pocket perfectly and is set up with a brass grommet for a chain (not included). There are 4-patch pockets made of pigskin in the Fin that can handle most all the crap you feel compelled to carry.

The wallet has a cool barb wire scar, that i worked into the flower design…something different.

BUY IT HERE

its got a keeper with a brass snap and a custom brass skull keeper that attached the keeper to the wallet.

The Fin is made from 6oz vegetable tan leather, a lighter lighter weight than my normal fare and is durable as hell. I use Fiebings oil dyes for my work, so the color mellows with age and takes on a great patina. This is a good looking wallet which will get you lots of comments and it is entirely hand made, by me, right here in the USA.

steveb leatherworks - the Nolle
I used a piece of 6oz veg tan in the front, and the back portion is made from 10oz -very substantial – and reasonably beefy – not overboard. Everything I make is lined, and this is no exception, its lined with mission grain pigskin, sewn with American sourced thread, on an American made sewing machine.

Canary in the coal mine

The AHDRA is gone, kaput – out of business – the 2013 Series has been cancelled.

No matter your take on politics or personality, it’s a shame that while we were all watching the latest TV chopper kookiness and faux-competitions, a real, genuine organization that helped promote American manufacturing and VTwin performance faded from view.

relic

Ya just dont see many of these soldiers in the field anymore, kind of like the rotary dialing phone, they’ve faded from the scene, replaced by things that are, ahem, “better”.

RIVCO: delivering a horn that honks

My Street Glide’s stock OEM horn had finally given up the ghost for good. What had at least passed for a lame flock of ducks had deteriorated into the bleating of a lone ewe then finally a frog and then … Continue reading

Dream Ride – Let’s Go Trippin’! by Kustom Jeff Dailey

Do you have a trip that you’ve always wanted to take and are always looking for info about? Is there that one road you want to ride from one end to the other? Some people are fortunate enough to be able to arrange things to make these rides happen, and some of us keep on dreaming. If things go right, it happens, but we have to handle the things that we’ve accepted responsibility for first. Until then we keep on dreaming and planning, and the dream I keep having is to ride Route 66 from Chicago to California. Continue reading

Custom Design Studio: on cleanliness

I’m Kirk Taylor and my shop, Custom Design Studios, has been in business since 1988. We started by satisfying the needs of the motorcycle community because there weren’t many good, reliable painters in this area. Now, by way of background, I grew up in a machine shop where Pops was making Springer and Girder front ends back in the 70’s – so to dispel a common myth… I’m not just a bike painter. I do complete custom fabrication work, ground up customs and just about everything in between, including service – to pay the landlord. Continue reading

the state of 45dgree in 1000 words

So, you’ve probably noticed, 45dgree is kind of freewheeling…coasting.. the question begs – what’s the story?

When I launched 45dgree some years ago its mission was clear: it was a photo site I decided to have more control over my portfolio of Motorcycle and Abandoned America images, because I’d outgrown Flickr.

We’re all ears at 45dgree

Proper Gasket Installation – the James Gasket way

Gasket Installation Techniques and Considerations
In these tough economic times, many riders are choosing to service their bikes at home rather than take them to their local shop or dealership. This can be a way to save a few bucks on labor. Keep in mind though, a qualified mechanic at a reputable shop will back his or her work which will give you piece of mind down the road, if your skills are sketchy. Continue reading
